Biography
Dr. Joseph Iwanicki brings more than 50 years of clinical experience to his role as Medical Director of kalon Dermatology. He oversees clinical operations across all three offices, so patients receive consistent care whether they visit Sheepshead Bay, Bay Ridge, or Staten Island.
Dr. Iwanicki earned his medical degree at the Academy of Wroclaw in Poland in 1974, then moved to New York for his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center. He holds a hospital affiliation at Lenox Hill Hospital and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Over his career he developed a strong interest in the relationship between hormonal health, aging, and skin, which drew him from gynecology into aesthetic medicine and, in time, to directing this practice.
Day-to-day skin care at kalon is delivered by the practice's board-certified dermatologists, Dr. Michael Gladstein and Dr. David Biro, together with the PA and NP team. Dr. Iwanicki sets the standard for how they evaluate and treat each patient. He is fluent in English, Polish, and Russian, which lets him connect directly with many of the patients who come to kalon from across Brooklyn and Staten Island.
