Biography
Dr. Joseph Iwanicki brings 50+ years of clinical experience to his role as Medical Director of kalon Dermatology. His background in obstetrics and gynecology, combined with a longstanding commitment to women’s wellness, shapes the care philosophy that runs through every aspect of the practice. He oversees clinical operations across all three kalon locations, ensuring that patients receive consistent, high-quality care whether they visit Brooklyn, Staten Island, or Bay Ridge.
Dr. Iwanicki completed his medical degree at the Academy of Wroclaw in Poland in 1974, then moved to New York to complete his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center. He holds hospital affiliations at Lenox Hill Hospital and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Iwanicki developed a strong interest in the relationship between hormonal health, aging, and skin. That interest led him to the intersection of gynecology and aesthetic medicine, where he now channels his clinical judgment into building a dermatology practice rooted in evidence-based care and genuine patient relationships.
As Medical Director, Dr. Iwanicki sets the standards for how kalon’s team evaluates and treats each patient. He is fluent in English, Polish, and Russian, allowing him to connect with many of the diverse patients who come to kalon from across Brooklyn, Staten Island, and the surrounding areas.
