Biography
Dr. David Biro is one of the most academically accomplished dermatologists practicing in New York, with more than 30 years of experience. He earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Pennsylvania, his MD at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and a PhD at Oxford University. He is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
At kalon Dermatology, Dr. Biro treats the full range of medical and cosmetic skin concerns, from skin cancer screening and excision to Botox, fillers, and laser work. Patients describe his approach as unhurried and clear: he explains what he sees, lays out the options, and sets honest expectations before anything is done.
Alongside his practice, Dr. Biro serves as an associate clinical professor of dermatology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, where he trains the next generation of dermatologists. His teaching earned him the Alpha Omega Alpha Teaching Award, and New York Magazine named him a Top Doctor in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
What is harder to put in a credential list is that Dr. Biro has been on the other side of the examination table. As a young physician he underwent a bone marrow transplant, an experience he later wrote about and one that shaped how he listens to patients living with a difficult diagnosis.
