Biography
Yelena Terushkin is a certified physician assistant at kalon Dermatology with a practice that spans medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She holds a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from York College of Queens and is licensed to practice in both New York and Florida. Before pursuing medicine, she studied finance and management at Brooklyn College, an academic background that influences the practical, organized way she manages her patients’ care.
Yelena’s clinical scope covers the full range of dermatology services. In medical dermatology, she evaluates and treats conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and skin infections. She performs skin cancer screenings and monitors suspicious lesions over time. In surgical dermatology, she assists with and performs minor procedures including excisions, biopsies, and removal of benign and malignant growths.
Her cosmetic practice is a significant part of what she brings to kalon. She performs Botox injections, dermal fillers, chemical peels, and laser treatments, approaching each procedure with the attention to facial anatomy and aesthetic proportion that good cosmetic outcomes require. She believes cosmetic dermatology is most effective when it starts with an honest conversation about what a patient realistically wants and what treatment can deliver.
The belief at the center of her practice is patient relationships. Dermatology is often a long-term endeavor. Chronic conditions need consistent management. Cosmetic patients return for touch-ups and maintenance. Yelena’s commitment to building lasting relationships means her patients aren’t starting from scratch every time they come in.
