Understanding Sofwave

Q:

what is sofwave?

A:

When being asked about Sofwave, the first answer would be how Sofwave works. It’s a non-invasive form of treatment. There are no needles or chemicals involved. It is a high-frequency ultrasound device, and it penetrates the skin into the middle layer around the dermis. It creates some of that skin damage or stimulation to that layer, and that forces collagen formation… helping the skin to tighten up and achieving that lifting effect.

Q:

what skin concerns does sofwave address?

A:

The leading questions for somebody to be interested in doing a Sofwave without being familiar with Sofwave is skin laxity. Basically, the skin kind of dwindles and sags. The sagging of the skin—that’s a natural occurring process with aging, with the effects of gravity. Our skin tends to kind of pull down. We lose some of that collagen that helps to hold the skin, and everything starts sagging down. Patients usually complain about areas around the neck, around the mouth, and folds, wrinkling on the neck area, or the crepiness appearance of the skin.

Q:

what are the common sofwave treatment areas?

A:

The most common areas will be the lower part of the face and the neck. The next one will be lifting the eyebrows—people who have kind of sagging or low eyebrows. Sofwave can help with that. The device also has FDA clearance for multiple areas besides the face and neck, like acne scars, skin tightening around the abdomen, and cellulite on the buttocks.

The Treatment Experience

Q:

how many sofwave sessions are needed?

A:

The amount of sessions is usually individual, but it is between one or two sessions between three to six months apart.

Q:

how long does a sofwave session take?

A:

The amount of time required for each session depends on the amount of area to be covered—neck and face or other parts of the body. The treatment itself takes about an hour, up to 90 minutes for a large area.

Q:

does sofwave hurt?

A:

There is some discomfort involved. It’s just heat sensation. We use a numbing cream to mitigate that. It’s a strong medical-grade numbing cream that is compounded specifically for us.

Q:

what side effects does sofwave have?

A:

They may also ask about side effects, which include a little redness and irritation, but that usually lasts for a very limited time—maybe a day. There’s no downtime, no visible marks, no injection points.

Results & Longevity

Q:

when will sofwave results be visible?

A:

The results are not immediately visible because of the effect of collagen stimulation. It takes a few weeks to a month to get that result.

Q:

are sofwave results permanent?

A:

The results are permanent because there are no chemicals involved—it’s stimulating your own collagen. But they’re not permanent because you still live on Earth, and the effects of gravity will pull it down. You’ll probably have to repeat the procedure over time.
